CLASS STYLES
Yin Yoga
This style targets the deep connective tissues of the body – the ligaments, joints, bones, and deep fascia to encourage release and flexibility. This class generally runs for an hour and will consist of a series of passive floor poses held for 3- 5 minutes, that mainly work the lower part of the body which are especially rich in connective tissues. Yin yoga improves energy flow and helps provide a boost of energy! Yin yoga is best practiced on ‘cold’ muscles, which is why I recommend this class first thing in the morning or right before bed. Doing cardio or participating in Yang style yoga before taking a Yin class can lead to the muscles stretching a little deeper than we’d like them too. Props are encouraged to modify your practice to your comfort level. If you have yoga blocks, a strap and yoga blanket please have them handy.
Adaptive
Please schedule a free ten minute virtual consultation before signing up for this class so that we may design a class that fits your unique needs! Typically this class is a slowed down and more intentional form of hatha style yoga that allows you to enjoy the gentle rhythm and moving mediation of a flow yoga class as you mindfully move from one pose to the next. This class typically include 45 minutes of asana postures and 15 minutes of pranayama breathing exercises. Props such as straps, blankets, blocks and pillows are encouraged for any needed modifications.
experimental Yoga
Yogi’s choice. Anything goes in this yoga class. We don’t know what to expect either. If you have any experiments you’d like to request, send us an email and we will try to accommodate your request.
private Yoga
Yoga is for every body, but it’s not one size fits all. It’s up to you to decide what you would like to work on and we will work together to find a sequence that works for your body and goals.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Taylor Rene is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200) specializing in Yin and Adaptive classes. Her first student and inspiration to become a yoga teacher was her older sister. While practicing yoga together during the pandemic, she found that a slowed down and adapted form of yoga was extremely helpful in helping her sister manage the overstimulation she experienced due to being on the autism spectrum. As the world opened back up, she began sharing this adaptive “low stim” style class with others and expanded into Ethereal Yoga Collective. She loves diving into the calmer side of yoga and adapting and sharing it with each student.
